First Presbyterian Preschool
Purpose and Structure
First Presbyterian Preschool operates as a community service ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It is not a full-time day care center, but an age appropriate setting is provided for play and learning as an extension of the home. Classes are open to children age 2 and to those not yet in kindergarten by August 15.
First Presbyterian Preschool's primary focus is to provide children a safe space to develop social skills, physical abilities, and emotional understanding while also affirming each child's important place in the family of God. The curriculum is planned around units common to preschools, and the Christian perspectives pervade every aspect of the program.
Curriculum
As with any preschool, First Presbyterian's teachers work with the children on letter and number recognition, writing, sight words, science, and math.
We follow a theme based curriculum that also incorporates Bible stories and Christian songs into the weekly instruction. Since we are a faith-based preschool, First Presbyterian Preschool observes all Christian holidays and traditions.
As a licensed preschool, we also teach developmentally appropriate personal safety as approved by the Department of Human Services.
Hours of Operation and Schedule
First Presbyterian Preschool is open Monday-Thursday from 8:30 AM-12:30 PM.
We do offer Extended Stay until 2:00 PM for all age groups. The cost of this service is $10/day.
The preschool adheres to city and county school holidays and snow days. The preschool is closed on all scheduled county in-service and early dismissal days.

Registration and Fees
Registration
First Presbyterian Preschool's 9 month school year runs from September-May. We require an annual registration fee of $85 and pre-placement visit to secure your child's space for the 36-week school year. We also charge an annual supply/event fee of $40, paid in September of each year.
Children are admitted on a first come, first serve basis within the following priority confines:

Fees (By Age)
2 Year Olds, 2 Days/Week (Mon/Wed OR Tues/Thur): $210/Month
3 Year Olds, 3 Days/Week (Mon, Wed, Thur): $260/Month
4Year Olds, 4 Days/Week (Mon-Thur): $310/Month
Monthly tuition is due by the 10th of each month.
Extended Stay available until 2:00 PM daily for $10/day.
